- Fair Appreciation Day! -Thank you!
Thanks to our Sonoma County 4-H families for washing, raking, cleaning, pulling weeds, and spreading bark at the annual Fair Appreciation Day. Thank you to the Fair Board for providing a BBQ lunch! See you all at Chickenque on Sunday, May 7.

We are looking forward to a great fair this year!
Our office has gone through some significant changes this year, including new fair dates which resulted in a new livestock judging schedule. The fair will have a straight run, starting on August 3 and continuing through August 13. (no longer closed on Mondays).
Please see the attached file which contains important updates regarding our upcoming fair. The last page has the Quantity Request Form.
You can print the form, fill it out and return it to the office in person or via fax (707) 573.9342 or fill it out on line and email it back to our office. If we receive the form by April 28th we will have everything ready for you by May 1st.
Please note that we will deliver all packets when we attend May CCC meeting, so Sonoma County 4-H clubs can pick up their packets there.

- Fashion Revue
Another successful Fashion Revue was held on Saturday, April 8. Congratulations to the 21 participants who created almost 70 amazing entries. They also competed in the Fashion Design Contest and the Knowledge & Judging Contest. Thank you to our 9 judges who spent the morning evaluating the entries and to the other parents and members who helped the day go smoothly. You will be able to see some of the fantastic Fashion Revue entries at the Chickenque and the May CCC meeting.
We have many participants who are eligible to compete in the State Fashion Revue in May. We need Sonoma County volunteers for State Fashion Revue judges at UC Davis on May 27.
Next year's Sonoma County Fashion Revue theme will be “Super Heroes” and there will be a costume category. - Heidi Lavell

President's Letter-Amanda Schell
Here we go again! It's our busiest time of and it's especially important to watch your calendars at this time of year being as so many important deadlines are coming up. Please be aware of due dates for fair entries and pre-registrations and camp reservations. It's also definitely not too early to make sure your record books are up to date. This will make it so much easier for you to complete them before it's time to turn them in!
The 56th Annual 4-H Open House and Chickenque will take place on May 7th, and we're so excited that one of our favorite days is finally here! Chickenque is our major fundraiser for our 4-H program so selling those tickets and getting the word out there is very, very important. Don't forget that tickets are available online and those ticket sales can be made with a specific club named for credit. A special thank you to Fred Frey and the whole Chickenque committee for working to put on this wonderful event. Congratulations to all the members who submitted Chickenque posters for competition! The All-Stars certainly had their work cut out for them when choosing the winners!
We also need to acknowledge Naomi Edwards and the Fashion Revue committee for a fantastic job done on the Fashion Revue that took place on April 8th. The contestants and entries were amazing and creative, and congratulations to all the winners! Thank you for showing yet again how your skills can grow through our program!
Fair time is coming up and will be here sooner than you think! Don't forget that fairs are not only an opportunity to showcase the animals you've raised, but to enter all the wonderful things you have made during your 4-H project meetings! It is wonderful to see the exhibit building filled with all the creative items you make and the fantastic educational displays! When you share your projects with the general public and educate them about 4-H by entering your project work at the fair or giving a demonstration it's a win-win for all involved!
Our final CCC meeting of the 2016-2017 year is Tuesday, May 2nd, 2017, 7 pm at the 4-H Center. Hope to see you there!

My garden is located in Windsor, near Foothill and Hembree. It has 15 raised beds, irrigated on a timer. The beds are 4x4 foot; 4x6 foot and 4x8 foot.
