Spring semester 2022, the Range Management course will be offered at Santa Rosa Junior College. This semester the class will have a special focus on vegetation management for wildfire reduction. Management practices covered include prescribed grazing and fire, mechanical control and how to prioritize and combine practices for achieving rangeland and forest health goals. Labs will be in person, at Shone Farm, looking at different fuel reduction techniques, which were created for the Range Management class. Range monitoring, climate smart practices and management of grazing will also be covered. This class in CSU transferable for Natural Resources and Agriculture students but is also a great class for public land managers, private landowners & grazers
