Rod Shippey Hall dedication a gala event

Nov 17, 2012

The new UC Ag and Natural Resources's new outreach and education building at the Hopland Research & Extension Center was officially dedicated yesterday at a grand gala event.  UC folks, local folks, donors, and contractors ... all the people who made this vision of the "Rod Shippey Hall" become a reality over the last few years ... attended the event.  A future vision of the building's use and a dedication to the late Rod Shippey was shared by all.

UC Cooperative Extension viticulture advisor Glenn McGourty obtained wine from three local wineries... Fetzer-Bontera, Navarro Vineyards, and McFadden Vineyards for the event.   All of these viticulture folks were influenced by and worked with "Uncle Rod" in the past and are now producing wine from grape varietals tried and tested by UCCE researchers like Bruce Bearden and Glenn McGourty  here at HREC.
