USBCHA Hopland dog trials wrap up

Nov 12, 2012

The annual United States Border Collie Handler's Association sanctioned dog trials at the UC Hopland Research & Extension Center were completed and wrapped up late last evening.  The three-day event was a grand success with over 50 working dogs entered.

Bill Berhow with his dog Gwen scored a fantastic 93 points out of a 100 to place first on Saturday.  Amelia Smith, from southern California, with her dog Buff, took first place on Sunday with a score of 79+.

Other than a couple "shut down" hours due to thick fog on the course, the weather was beautiful, the course was green, and the spectators were happy!   It is a huge team effort from HREC staff, HREC volunteers, and USBCHA volunteers, combined with 4-H volunteers, to make the whole event a success ...and THANK YOU to all of them.
