No, we don't have a jury picked for this weekend's sheep dog trials here at UC Hopland Research & Extension Center in Mendocino County.   However, we do have a dog trial judge to work the sanctioned United States Border Collie Handler's Association field trial where sheep herding dogs will be competing from daylight until dark this Saturday and Sunday.

The public is welcome to come and watch ... so come and visit Mendocino County this weekend.  The local 4-H Shamrock Club will be have its traditional food booth ...providing hot breakfasts and lunches as a fund raiser for the club.  The food prep, under the direction of local catering chef Beth Keiffer, has a reputation as being SUPERB!  Hot lamb stew is usually on the menu. 

The fall colors and scenery are spectacular, as is the local wine tasting in the nearby Sanel Valley, so escape to the country this weekend!   Please leave your dogs at home ... as there are no "non-entry" dogs allowed on the site.
