Horse Day...A hands-on Approach to Equine Topics

Policy clarification: Special Jr is a “ Fair” category and 4-h does not have special juniors. All youth in the program under 9 years of age can NOT be in large animal projects and there are no exceptions to this. They should not be attending these meetings or be around the animals.

If this is going on they are doing at the leader's risk!

This applies no matter what project they are in. Animal husbandry is meant to be an overview project of many species and management practices, and not a way to be able to show at the fair or get around the "primary" rule.

Additional information regarding the 2016 4-H Shooting Sports National Championships can be found at:  http://www.4-hshootingsports.org/nat_invite.php

A National 4-H Shooting Sports Workshop will be held for the first time ever in San Luis Obispo, CA. The event will be September 29 - October 3, 2015. Those 4-H volunteers/staff who attend will be certified in one of seven discipline areas of their choosing. Please forward the attached information sheet and application to those in your county affiliated with the shooting sports program.

I often receive comments that "we don't have trainings or a training team" in our area. This is the opportunity for your county or county cluster to remedy that. The early bird registration fee through August 31 is $195 and that includes food, lodging, course materials!

State Leader's Forum 2015 is in San Diego on Nov 6,7,8. Registration is open. This is a great weekend for project and club leaders to get together, and network. There are many workshops offered and you will return inspired and refreshed. County Council offers partial scholarships
