Under the general direction of the Director and supervision by the UC MFP Food Entrepreneurship Coordinator, this position will entail statewide support for the UC Master Food Preserver program. Duties include project management in office administration, event planning and meeting coordination, communications, marketing, training and fund development. The UC Master Food Preserver program operates in 17 counties with over 400 certified volunteers, providing research-based practices on home food preservation to maintain the safety and health of Californians, while reducing food waste. This position will provide support to the 8 volunteer and staff county program coordinators and advisors who train and develop volunteers in the implementation at the county level of the statewide framework. This position will be responsible for ensuring alignment of statewide program goals and resources of the larger Nutrition, Family and Consumer Sciences (NFCS) Program and the broader UC ANR Strategic Plan.
Additional responsibilities: consistent correspondence with coordinators, volunteers, Academic Advisors, and the Advisory Committee. Responses to public inquiries. Address ongoing issues and program needs. Provide program policy clarification and ensure program cohesion. Assist in identifying potential funding sources, sending thank you notes, and contribute to reporting and grant writing efforts in support of the UC Master Food Preserver program.
