What’s Happened to All of the Butterflies?

Speaker: Susanne Clarke

Many people are aware that our local butterflies are not seen very much anymore. Why? We will explore the answers to this and more.  Examples of butterflies common in both urban and country settings will be shown.  This presentation illustrates why the butterflies and caterpillars require different plants to survive. It also illustrates the life cycles and necessary host plants for three butterflies local to Sonoma County: Anise Swallowtail, Gulf Fritillary, and Pipevine Swallowtail.

Location: Petaluma Library, 100 Fairgrounds Drive, Petaluma
